Comments on Well Data Labs graphs are a powerful way to communicate information about a job. Some comments in Well Data Labs tie directly to a specific time within the job on the Well Data Labs graphs, and other comments are tied to a particular stage or data element via the Treatment Data page.
Graph Comments
On any graph, you'll just need to click the Comment button on the toolbar to add a new comment.
You'll see the comments that have been added to the job as open, red circles along the x-axis. By hovering over a comment marker, a small text box will pop up with the timestamp and the text of the comment.
And if you need to edit the comment's text or delete the comment outright, just click on the comment marker. A popup will appear with options to make whatever changes are needed.
Treatment Data Comments
As part of Well Data Lab's commitment to providing quality data, every time an override value is entered using the Treatment Data page, a comment is required to document why the value is being changed.
Once the override is saved, you're able to view the original value, the new value, and any comments that were left on that override by pointing at the red triangle in the top left of that value's cell. This triangle appears alongside the overridden value on both the Treatment Data page and on the Job Summary pages.
Also on the Treatment Data page, stage-level comments can be entered to detail the events of the stage as well as any other information that isn't captured in other sections of the app.
In Well Data Labs, Comments can appear on every graph, alongside every override value, and as a part of every mapped stage. We've seen comments used to track non-productive time, to share observations with colleagues, and to explain unusual meter readings for future reference.
