We attempted to make the Wellview add-in flexible to meet the needs of your organization. There are a number of options that you can select on the add-in prior to importing your data which will impact how the data is loaded into Wellview.
Wellview Options
Job -- These dropdowns -- Job, Wellbore, Casing String, and Zone -- let you select which Wellview records the import refers to on each table. Select the records which should be referenced by the importer. For instance, the importer will write "Job" to the field Job Table on the wvStim table, and it will write the selected Job record into the field Job.
Import Options
Overwrite Existing Data -- The Well Data Labs add-in will not overwrite records that were not created by the WDL add-in. So if a record is manually created on the Other In Hole table, it will not be replaced by an import with the Other In Hole overwrite option selected. The add-in writes and checks for source information into the "Record Tag" field of each table.
Import Type
The Well Data Labs add-in can function either through the WDL API or a WITSML. You can select your preferred method on the add-in by clicking in the indicated tabs.
WDL API -- Once you've configured the API to use the correct key, you can simply connect to the WDL API system to pull in the list of jobs and the data for each job. Read more about how the API functions on our API documentation or on the Setting Up the WDL Wellview Add-In article.
WITSML -- As an alternative to the API, Well Data Labs also provides a WITSML export file that you can use to import completions data to Wellview. The import options and available data points are identical, although the mapping documents are separate. The WITSML file can be exported for the desired job from the Well Data Labs web application. Then, from the add-in, select the file that matches to your selected Wellview job.
