FracPro files are commonly used to store stage-by-stage information for completions data. Let's take a look at how you can export CSV and WITSML files from FracPro for import into Well Data Labs.
Find your files
There are a couple types of files associated with FracPro: an .inp file and a .dbs file. The .dbs file holds the actual data needed for each stage, and you may have more than one .inp, depending on your file structure. Load up your .inp file.
Check the database link
Check the .dbs file linked to your .inp file on the [F4] screen, to ensure that you are pulling the desired data for your stage.
Run the model
Start the model run, [Alt] + R or the small "play" triangle on the toolbar. This will calculate all fields that aren't otherwise contained in the .dbs file.
Setup an export template
On the first stage of each well, we recommend setting up a template so that you don't have to pick the desired elements and options on every single stage of your well. On the ASCII Data Export screen, select the Database Channels and add in the channels for Bottomhole Pressures, Bottomhole Concentrations, and Volumes that you want captured in Well Data Labs. Be double sure that "Include Job Time" is selected, as this will serve as the primary time column for your files. Select .CSV as the output format and save your template in an easy to access location.
Export CSV
Once the model has finished running, fill in the Start Time, the End Time, and Timestep fields. The Start Time should be "0", the End Time should be slightly greater than the Model Time displayed in the lower right-hand corner, and the Timestep should be "1". Save your file with a unique name and in your preferred location. The exporter will quickly run through the data, but it won't confirm that the export completed successfully, so keep an eye on the window when you click "Save".
Export WITSML
Finally, navigate to the [Shift] + F2 screen and on the Excel Report Content tab, click on "Generate WITSML Output".
Repeat
If you have a separate .inp file for each stage, close FracPro and open the next stage, repeating the above steps. If you only use one .inp for the entire job, you can just start over at the [F4] screen to change the database link to the next stage.
